Mockingbird cafe in Basking Ridge

Amazing gluten free lemon ricotta pancakes, regular pancakes & broccoli omelette. Service was great & food was beyond delicious. Cozy cafe with breakfast all day. Yum!

They offer an awesome range of fresh food. I love dining here. Employees are always very kind, pricing is reasonable and the place is always kept clean.

Outstanding brunch menu. I had a tasty omelet featuring smoked salmon and my husband had the turkey avocado sandwich. All very tasty. Ate outside. Staff extremely helpful. I will definitely recommend this restaurant.

We were so happy to see Blue Cafe open as Mockingbird was our favorite brunch spot. The food was amazing and the staff even better. They were extremely accommodating with us bringing our puppy along, especially our server Alex who our puppy completely adored! Looking forward to many more meals here!!

Clean, fast courteous service, nice upscale menu with some of the old Mockingbird favorites. I enjoyed the lemon 🍋 ricotta pancakes with fresh berries!

A wonderful place for breakfast. I would recommend getting there near opening time, since it gets quite loud around 9 o’clock. They have made some modifications to the ceiling for noise abatement, but I still would recommend getting there early. Waffles and pancakes highly recommended, as well as omelettes.

Wow!!! Fantastic!!! Highly recommend. Their veggie burger was out of this world!!! We will definitely be back!

So different from the usual diner food.

Nice place and nice atmosphere food was good. Went for breakfast with my wife,had the eggs and chorizo skillet which for me was different but good. My wife had the frittata skillet and she said she enjoyed it. Will definitely visit this place again when in the neighborhood.

Finally had the chance to try the new Blue Cafe this morning for breakfast. The Warsaw Skillet was fantastic, and my friend enjoyed the Huevos Rancheros. Excellent service (thank you Alex! ), so friendly and attentive, without being overbearing (we lingered for almost 2 hours). Definitely found a new favorite spot in town!

The food at The Blue Cafe is consistently excellent, and their coffee is the best - found a new favorite in the dirty chai latte. The menu is the perfect size offering a variety without being overwhelming. Service is always impeccable and the owners are very nice :)

Sat at the counter. The staff is polite and friendly. The Paris Morning breakfast is phenomenal, highly recommend. Seriously, get it - with a side of bacon too.

The coffee was good. Paris Morning was average. Not a lot of flavor for the salmon or potato cakes.

My wife and I were so sad to see the closing of mocking bird cafe. We were a bit sceptical of Blue Cafe because we never thought that it could compete with mocking bird. If you feel the same thing, let me put that to rest. Blue Cafe is phenomenal. The avocado toast with smoked salmon was the best I have ever had. The ricotta lemon pancakes are good too. I got the OJ and it was awesome! Fresh Pressed!!! If you still need grieving time for the loss of MBC that's understandable, but definitely give Blue a chance. You won't be disappointed!

We met with friends at this restaurant for a meeting. we heard about this restaurant from a lot of people. Well, it was very nice. we were warmly welcomed by the staff members and we had an excellent feeling. The meal was yummy. We had a great time and we will definitely return to this restaurant. We recommend this place to all.

Service and food were great. Ordered the French Toast, and the Eggs Benedict. Everything was fresh and tasty. This place is new, gotta support local businesses whenever we can. The owners Barbara and Chris are so nice and welcoming. I would highly recommend trying this place and I will be back!

Blue Cafe is new and improved over the old and tired, Mockingbird Cafe. It is a much cleaner restaurant now. No more dirty walls and doors, chipped dishes and young untrained staff. Food is descent and more enjoyable in the new clean surroundings.

Excellent. Service great. Food great. Wife had pancakes and said one of the best. I had a skillet. Thought it wasn’t much food when brought out but barely finished it. Very flavorful. Will be back soon.

Tuesday @ 1200. Very busy and loud. Great brunch burger, done just right. Quick and polite service. Will go back again for breakfast options!

We went here 6/18/20 for my son in law's 70th birthday. Had waiter named Alex. He was superb! Kept our coffee hot. Food was excellent! For five people, our bill only came to $70. We sat outside for 2 hours. Highly recommend this fabulous eatery. Bathroom was spotless. KUDOS!

I think I can speak for the whole town in saying that we’ve all been in mourning since our coveted Mocking Bird Cafe closed suddenly and unexpectedly. But we need not despair any longer. Blue cafe is here to save the day. With its clean modern atmosphere and attentive cheerful staff, this place beckons you in. The menu is just big enough to whet your appetite but not too large to overwhelm you. There is a French and Eastern European flair that accents good old American classics. Everything here is top notch. It’s a homey NYC cafe right here in Basking Ridge!

Enjoy downtown Basking Ridge from this quaint eatery w/ outdoor seating. Blue Cafe' chic atmosphere often takes a backseat to its many densely packed transient patrons that continually pass through. So come early or late to avoid the commotion and wait time. On the menu, Blue serves a unique spin on traditional breakfast and lunch choices; Gluten free options available. Owners always on site and the staff is both friendly and accommodating, including those with larger families.

Lovely breakfast and lunch menu. Unfortunately, it tends to be a bit noisy. Not cheap but very nice food and presentation.

I have been eating there since it first opened. The elegantly plated food is always delicious from breakfast foods to their soups and sandwiches The owners are warm and friendly with an whatever we can do attitude to please their customers. This has quickly become one of my favorite spots to visit in the Basking Ridge / Bernardsville area. The food is excellent, especially for the price, and they have a good selection of dishes for breakfast and lunch.

Delicious food, excellent service, classy but not over the top, outdoor seating, interesting and delicious beverage choices, breakfast and lunch options available all day, adequately priced. My girlfriend and I can’t help but eat here 3-4 times a week. We have tried almost every item on the menu and have yet to be disappointed!

I grew up in town when this was the Corner Cupboard, a homey place for everyone. The Blue Cafe has restored that to this cozy corner spot. Delicious fresh lunch. I had the asparagus feta omelet w/salad & warm croissant. Delish! A definite go to place.

Avocado toast was good. Service was friendly but slow. I won’t go again because it was so noisy, so loud that I couldn’t hear my friend across the table. They should add sound dampening fabric on chairs or windows, or ceiling tiles to absorb the noise!
